Coach Bill Brown has become a great example to his basketball team of what it takes when you don’t let anything get in the way of your passion. A type 1 diabetic since 1988, Coach Bill was aware of what risks come with diabetes, so when he obtained a blister on his foot he took all the necessary precautions to make sure it wouldn’t get worse. However, five months later his doctor’s told him his leg had to be amputated.
Watch as Coach Bill admits he had diabetes lapses and how he learned the hard way that an accumulation of these can be an extreme consequence. Be inspired as he describes making the decision of giving up or living on despite his diabetes set-back. Don’t let your diabetes decide who’s in charge, it’s all up to you!
