5 Diabetes Tech Advances We’re SO Excited About

Diabetes management is a 24-7, 365 days a year responsibility. There are no vacations. No hitting pause. You have to manage all day, every day, regardless of what is going on in your life. It doesn’t slow down for the holidays, and it often doesn’t even let you sleep through the night.

Additionally, management entails a ton of work. From counting carbs and exercising, to finger pricks and insulin shots. It can be tiring, frustrating, stressful, emotionally exhausting, and sometimes downright painful.

The point is: it’s relentless, and it’s difficult.

And while we’d all love a cure more than new treatment options, it’s always nice when new products come around that help make our lives just a little bit easier.

Luckily, we’ve recently seen some amazing innovations in the field of diabetes treatment. And while not all of them are available yet, we’re really excited for their release, and will be following the progress closely. Take a look, and make sure to let us know what you think in the comments!

5. i-Port Advance® Injection Port

Sick of having to poke yourself each time you have to administer insulin throughout the day? Well, the i-Port Advance® from Medtronic is an injection port that takes the shots for you. It features a soft canula and adhesive to keep an injection port in place. Instead of puncturing the skin each time you take insulin, you simply insert your needle into the injection port.

This awesome new device can be worn for up to three days, and you can continue all of your normal activities without having to worry about compromising the integrity of the device.
