The holidays are here, and we’re so excited! Excited to decorate the tree, hang the lights and stockings, watch our favorite Christmas movies, and spend time with loved ones. There’s a lot to be done, but once you’ve finished wrapping presents, running errands, and preparing the holiday feast, it all feels worth it.
Then someone asks, “Should you be eating that!?”
We’ve all been there. Sometimes people who don’t have diabetes simply have a hard time understanding that a diabetic diet is basically just the same healthy diet anyone should eat. Further, while we understand that we can still eat the same foods as long as we pay attention to moderation, they just don’t get it. So, people with diabetes often end up being asked the same (often silly, sometimes frustrating, and occasionally offensive) questions over and over.
But there’s no need to let that spoil your holiday! Instead, take a look at the video below for some tips on how to respond to some of these questions, and maybe get a better understanding of where people are coming from when they ask them!
