Growing up with the great tastes and memories of her grandmother’s legendary carb-filled Italian dinner table spread, type 2 diabetes educator and diabetic, Michelle Gaylord, is not surprised about what led to her type 2 diagnosis. First diagnosed with gestational diabetes during one of her six pregnancies, Michelle didn’t think anything of it and was later diagnosed with type 2, leading her to be angry and in denial.

But it wasn’t until she felt numbness in her toes that she knew she could no longer take her type 2 diabetes lightly.
