Biggest Loser Contestant Strikes Back Against Diabetes

In Diabetes Forecast’s July 2011 issue they highlight The Biggest Loser’s contestant Aaron Thompkins and his book published by the American Diabetes Association. Growing up in Ohio, Aaron was surrounded with family diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, so it wasn’t a surprised when he himself was diagnosed while on the show.

Watch as Diane touches base on how Aaron’s love for carbs and his ongoing battle with his weight after the show. Going from a show that dedicated 35 hours of their week to exercise, back to the real world where this is physically impossible for the average person, Aaron admits he did gain the weight back. But now he is working out with a vengeance, cleaning up his diet, and working with trainers and a weight loss support group to lose the weight and manage his diabetes just like the rest of us.
