Teaching kids to be superheroes isn’t just a game of make-believe for this Family Feud contestant. Mallory, who calls herself the Bionic Woman, works for the American Diabetes Association. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 6, she has made it her career and her quest to educate young people about the risks of diabetes as well as treatment options.

Recently, she told her story to host Steve Harvey when her family competed on Family Feud. The ambitious type 1 clearly sees the importance of making sure other people who suffer from diabetes (type 1 and type 2) don’t feel alone.
