I love most holiday traditions. From mistletoe to caroling, they all add something special to the celebratory feeling of the season. For me, there’s little better than bundling up in front of the Christmas tree (particularly if there’s a warm fire nearby) with a mug of hot chocolate and your favorite holiday movie (“It’s a Wonderful Life,” anyone?), on a cold winter night.
Except egg nog.
While I love hot chocolate, egg nog is my weakness. And unfortunately, traditional egg nog is packed with fat, sugar, and carbohydrates, which, as we all know, isn’t great for blood sugar (or the waistline).
However, thanks to Tova, none of us have to pass on this yummy holiday beverage! While portion control is still necessary when consuming this diabetic-friendly version, you can still indulge without feeling crummy later on, as long as you do so in moderation. And moderation is always the key– whether you have diabetes or not.
Tova’s recipe looks delicious is super easy to make, and it’s so good that your whole family can enjoy it without having any idea it’s diabetes-friendly! Take a look, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
