Tova, from Tova’s Kitchen, is back! We love her recipes, and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint!
Orange chicken is one of my favorite meals. Unfortunately, the traditional recipe is also loaded with carbs, sodium, and calories. Plus, it definitely doesn’t skimp on the sugar. So, while I typically try to find something a little more diabetes-friendly when ordering from my favorite delivery spot, thanks to Tova, I don’t have to miss out on this yummy dish altogether.
Instead, I can make a diabetes-friendly version (it contains significantly less carbs) of orange chicken right in my own kitchen!
How does she do it? Well, Tova’s secret lies in the breading… she substitutes low-carb, crushed whole-wheat cracker crumbs!
Not only is this dish absolutely delicious, it only has 239 calories and 13 grams of carbohydrates per serving (1 piece of chicken)! Plus, it packs 22 grams of protein!
