The Holiday Season is, far and away, my favorite time of year! I love the weather, the smells, the decorations, and the food! I love that it’s a reason to get together with friends and family and make a little extra effort to show them you care. And I love the idea of spending an entire day bundled up and relaxing indoors.
However, with all of that rest, relaxation, and indulgence, managing your diabetes can be a real challenge. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, you might be acutely aware of these challenges. Because it’s an entire day that’s traditionally known for feasting, controlling your numbers might seem impossible. However, there are some things you can do to stay on top of management.
In the video below, Chris, who has type 1 diabetes, offers some helpful survival tips to get you through the day in the healthiest way possible! And don’t worry. It doesn’t mean denying yourself of all of your holiday favorites.
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy!
