There’s a common (and unfortunate) misconception that people with diabetes should be less active. That they can’t do the same things people who don’t suffer from the condition can do. That they potentially have to lead more sedentary lifestyles.
However, while it is important to be extra careful (physical activity, and the endorphins that come with it, can raise blood sugar levels), the disease doesn’t have to hold you back.
Want some living proof?
Pro snowboarder Sean Busby, ballerina Zippora Karz, Iditarod racer Bruce Linton, and champion Ironman Jay Hewitt are just a few of the amazing people who haven’t let diabetes keep them from pursuing their big dreams. What’s even better is that they’re all speaking up to let the world know that the condition (no matter what type you are) doesn’t have to stop you from pursuing your own big dreams!
These individuals are so incredibly inspiring! We commend their positive attitudes, are impressed by their accomplishments, and love what they’re doing to help other people with diabetes realize their potential!
