KiDS Wants to Teach Kids to Understand Diabetes and End the Stereotypes!
Kids and Diabetes in Schools (KiDS), a program developed by the International Diabetes Federation and the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, seeks to improve education and understanding of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes in schools.
Many children with diabetes suffer from isolation, discrimination, and stigmas because of their disease, which can lead to a conflict between what is good for their bodies, and what is good for their minds.
With the help of KiDS, schoolchildren will (hopefully one day soon) no longer need to hide their disease from their peers, and can start just being kids.
