Managing your weight can be incredibly difficult. We are faced with so many temptations each day– from an abundant variety of less-than-healthy fast food options and yummy restaurants, to filling our days with such a long list of “to-dos” that exercising can seem like the easiest thing to skip. Consistently making the “right” or healthy choice can seem nearly impossible.
In 2010 Sandra Mendez of La Mirada, California was diagnosed with pre-diabetes after going to the doctor because she felt ill. In addition to being overweight, Sandra had a family history of diabetes. She knew it was time to make a change.
Determined to avoid medication, Sandra began making lifestyle changes. Her started making her health a priority– first by introducing daily exercise into her daily routine, then through dietary changes– swapping out tacos and fried chicken for more fruits and veggies.
Nearly two years later, Sandra lost close to 200 pounds!
Sandra has not only improved her personal health, but the health of her family, as well. Additionally, she has proven to be a tremendous inspiration to the people around her!
