Mexico’s Health Crisis: Diabetes

Believe it or not but Mexico has the third highest rate of diabetes in the Americas. Due to the growing number of burgers and fries being swapped out for the traditional Mexican diet of beans and tortillas, the number of obese and overweight Mexicans has tripled over the last 30 years and currently 70% of their adult population is overweight.

But this growing rate of unhealthy people in Mexico, is slowly making a change for those tired of being overweight and unhealthy. Today, doctors are educating the population about the importance of eating nutritious food and raising awareness of the dangers of obesity. Knowledge is power!
