Even though many ask him why he does it, Don knows in his heart it’s for a good cause. Swimming hundreds of laps for the past few years, Don does this amazing feat to raise money for Diabetes Youth Services. The money he earns allows kids with diabetes who can’t afford it or need financial aid, to to be able to go to diabetes summer camp.
This year it’s Don’s 64th birthday and he’s made it a personal challenge to conquer the 300 laps, it’s equivalent to 4 and 1/3 miles. Watch as he describes what inspired him to swim for diabetes and the importance of these camps to kids with diabetes. These camps combine camp activities with diabetes education, which Done believes that the more information and knowledge about managing diabetes these kids learn, the more powerful they will be!Whizzco
