For years Dr. Michael Bihari was a passionate cook and baker. He loved baking so much, in fact, that he had an impressive catalog of cheesecakes that he was known for having perfected.

Unfortunately, after a move, Bihari began to feel less than great. He visited a doctor, and almost immediately his symptoms were recognized to be in line with diabetes. Tests would reveal that in addition to having type 2 diabetes, he also had high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Recognizing that his conditions were putting him at high risk for heart disease, he knew it was time to make some changes. Primarily, he knew that in addition to medication, he’d need to make some lifestyle changes, including changing his diet, and incorporating exercise into his daily routine.

Impressively, Dr. Bihari quickly adapted. In addition to implementing an exercise routine, he also used his excellent cooking skills to make diabetes-friendly modifications to his favorite foods!

However, like all of us, he has experienced rough patches.

Take a look at the video below, where Dr. Michael Bihari looks back at his diagnoses, his triumphs, and the challenges he’s faced in trying to get his health back on track. Make sure to let us know what you think in the comments below!
